The Final Final

Today, I completed my last final fo the semester. I am now officially done with my freshman year of college! How cool is that??
The test itself was pretty crazy; I was on pain medication, which made stuff that didn't make any sense make even less sense, if that makes sense. I swear my professor just loves torturing us! He knew we'd be studying our little brains out, so he was sure to put stuff on the test that we didn't even discuss and wouldn't even think to prepare for. Oh ya. He's mean. I'm praying for a C, at the least. He said he would bell curve our grades, so I'm hoping that I suck slightly less at physics than at least half of the class. If not, I'm switching majors, for sure, to something that does not require physics!

Seeing as this was my last day as a college freshman, this will be my last post on this blog. I've loved sharing my college experience with you guys, and I hope it was somewhat helpful to you! I would love to continue this blog, but I'll be working full time during the summer, so I'll have barely enough time for one. My interests are more aligned with De l'Etoile, so that's the one I'll be posting at. Feel free to pop by and say hello!
Thank you for sharing this crazy year with me! You made it fun!

Now I Know Why it's Called Laughing Gas

My chemistry exam went pretty well yesterday. I actually wasn't late to this one! Surprise! Hahaha! They should have grades posted sometime next week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
My surgery was pretty intense, though. They gave me laughing gas before the general anesthesia, and it was way too much! They said the dose was about ten times too large, and I felt like I was suffocating before they toned it down! I did laugh a lot, though. Hahaha! The nurse told me stories to keep me from getting nervous; they were pretty funny, but I'm sure they couldn't have really been THAT funny, you know? :)
After they gave me the anesthesia, I don't even remember falling asleep. I do remember waking up in a totally different chair, though. Then waking up again outside as my sister sat me down in the car. After that, I was entertaining myself by trying to see just one of at least something. It wasn't until I was home that things started making more sense. Hahaha! Such fun!
For the past 18 hours, I've been laying down with ice, watching movies, playing with my dogs and even a stray my sister picked up for a little while. On Monday, I have to study for my physics final, but until then, I am taking it very very easy. I can't say it's very fun having your wisdom teeth taken out, but my views might change in just a couple minutes when I dig into the icecream Jim's parents brought me! Yum!

Have you ever had your wisdom teeth taken out?

Have a wonderful weekend! XOXO

Study study study

I began going over all the practice and actual exams for my chemistry class online. That's 3 practice exams, 3 actual exams, than a practice final. They all come with a key, so I can check my answers and refresh my memory.
I was pretty enthusiastic about it at first, but 4 tests later, my interest is winding down. I'm trying to give myself breaks in between so I don't fall back to sleep, but the breaks seem to be getting longer and longer! I've browsed the internet, pruned my rose bush, played games online, snuggled with my dog, and even read the instructions for all my prescriptions for after my surgery. Anything to keep from studying! And now I'm blogging--my usual procrastination tool.
Breaks are a good thing to take, but I think I'm just getting restless. Maybe I'll take Hamish for a walk--that's always fun! I have a piano lesson in a couple hours, but other than that, I have nothing to do today besides study chemistry and maybe some calc. However, excess time can sometimes be harmful to my studying.

What do you do to keep yourself focused?
Hope you're having a wonderful day! :)

Only a Week and a Half!

Tuesday after next, I'll be done with my first year of college! I have 3 more days of regular classes, then 3 finals. However, my last days of school will not be that simple. My math final is next Thursday, chemistry on Friday, and physics next next Tuesday. On Friday, about an hour after my chemistry final, I have an appointment to get my wisdom teeth extracted. Yay! Sounds fun, right? Hahahaha! It's going to be tricky juggling everything, but I have to be fully recovered before I start work. I figure a week and a half will be plenty of time.
I'm so excited to start my new job! Even though it's closely preceded by a surgery, I'm sure everything will go smoothly.

Have a great weekend!

Very Exciting News!

I GOT THE JOB!!!

Yayy!! Yes, this is my very first official job; yes, I'm extremely intimidated; but no, I'm not going to let any doubts keep me from trying my hardest. It's something I think I'll be good at. I have a lot of experience teaching and such, so being on a technological support team shouldn't be too different. I'm glad I've finally found a steady source of income; I really need to be saving up for the next few years of my life. Also, I'm glad I've grown accustomed to a heavy load of classes, and since that isn't too bad, I don't think working part-time will affect that. My first day is in about 3 weeks--can't wait!

Final Few Weeks

In two weeks from today, I'm done with school for a few months! I am so so excited!
My chem lab final is tomorrow. We have a written exam and a lab practical. I'm pretty nervous, since the practical is a solo job, but it can't be that bad, right?
I then have 3 lecture finals. I'm not the best test taker, nor the best studier, but hopefully I'll be alright! Hahaha! What are your best test-taking skills?

Phase 2 of Interview

So, about an hour ago, I was casually checking my Facebook and email before bed, when I found an email from Apple! They want an updated online application and a background check. I did the application right away, and now I'm way too excited to go to sleep! What if the answer back?! They probably won't until tomorrow, but I still can't help but check every two seconds. I'm soo nervous! I would stay up all night waiting, but I have classes, homework, and a dentist appointment tomorrow--I gotta be at least somewhat refreshed. Any suggestions on how to numb my mind? Hahaha!

Have you ever been so excited to hear back from a job? This is entirely new to me!
